What's The Process?

Preparing a couple for their wedding day involves much more than just taking a few dance lessons. Bud Walters has designed a quick, but effective process for ensuring any couple can approach their wedding day with both confidence and trust that they will enjoy every moment of their first dance as husband and wife.

The process is a four step process that includes the following:

Step 1. Dance Consultation--

The dance consultation occurs at the studio during your first visit. Many couples approach learning to dance with a dance type or song already in mind. However, there are many others that simply don't have a clue as to what they are looking for. Bud sets time aside with the couple to discuss the mood and ambiance the couple wants to establish and works with the couple to coordinate the music and dance that will best match with the couple's expectations.

Through the dance consultation the couple will decide on a dance style and receive a complementary CD of dance music that will match the style of the dance chosen. With these decisions in place, Bud will then immediately take the couple to dance instruction. Please keep in mind that the dance consultation is only the first step in this process and is completed only with your first dance lesson on your first visit. (top)

Step 2. Dance Instruction--

Preparing for your wedding dance simply wouldn't be complete without actually learning to dance. The dance instruction provided by Bud is in a private and relaxed setting that focuses on your specific needs for the big day. Bud spends time with the couple one on one and teaches through both demonstration and practice. As an experienced instructor, Bud excels at pin-pointing weak areas and allowing the couple to progress quickly through the instruction.

If you are looking for someone to simply choreograph a wedding dance for you, then you probably want a different instructor. Bud knows that when some dance studios force you to learn a choreographed dance that things can go wrong. Bud ensures that at a minimum you know how to dance, so if a problem ever arises you are prepared with a solid foundation in the style of dance. With this knowledge "under your belt" you simply can't go wrong.

The dance instruction from Bud is mostly about learning the dance you will perform on your wedding day, but it is also about ensuring the couple is confident in dancing together. That has always been Bud's approach and it is guaranteed to make your wedding day something you will always remember. (top)

Step 3. Photo-Op Training--

Many studios like to overlook the details of what a wedding dance truly means to the wedding couple. Bud is no novice when it comes to preparing couples and recognizes that part of the wedding dance is posing for the camera and having mementos that will last a lifetime. During this third step, Bud will teach you about proper photo-op moments and demonstrate ways to pose during the dance for your photographer. If you have always dreamed of your photographer capturing that perfect dip or twirl, then photo-op training is a must. (top)

Step 4. Presentation Coaching--

Bud is an experienced dance instructor, but also a professional actor and model. As such, Bud knows how to coach couples on the presentation of the dance for your guests. Don't forget that part of the wedding dance is ensuring that people understand that the couple is having a good time. Presentation coaching ensures that no matter which guest is watching that they will be left with an image worth remembering. (top)
